How do you charge for projects?
Most projects are initially estimated before work is started. The estimate tallies the total number of hours believed to bring the project to completion. Any changes to the estimate by the client or unforeseen technical difficulties may add addition time to the original estimate. IOWACOM bills at a rate of $60 per hour throughout the state of Iowa.

How much does it cost to make a website?
There are typically three basic costs involved in creating and publishing a professionally made website. Initially a good website name (domain name) must be selected like: www.yourbusiness.com. This costs between $15 and $35 per year depending on the domain name extension you choose. Then the designing and programming is completed to the client's specifications. Design and programming can be as little as $900 for an entire website or as much as $20,000 depending on your particular needs. After that a hosting fee is billed to the client every three months. This fee is typically $70 per quarter unless you have more complicated database hosting needs.

Does this include Email?
Yes, standard hosted accounts with IOWACOM include 10 free email addresses with the basic hosting package. Additional emails may be configured to meet the clients needs for an adjusted cost.

What happens when I want to change my website?
Typically the first and second round of changes are included in the original design and programming fee - depending on the exact situation. After that IOWACOM charges $60 per hour for requested changes and updates. This fee is broken down into quarter hour segments to suite our customers needs when necessary.

Many of the websites IOWACOM builds are self updating database sites that are designed to be updated by the client using a password protected control panel. This is perhaps the best way to accomodate the need for multiple necessary changes in the future. Another option is to have us train a member of your staff to update the website from a computer in your office.
